Dear Senator Tillis,
I note that you are among the Senators who have voted against the War Powers Resolution. Can you please explain to me why you are endangering American citizens and democratic ideals in order to support the current President's illegal incursion into a sovereign nation, and the kidnapping of a sovereign leader?
How are we meant to condemn China's aggression in the South China sea, or Putin's aggression in Ukraine, if America is engaging in a colonial war of aggression, by fiat, as though we were living in a dictatorship.
The declaration of war is a power which rests with the legislature. You are a legislator. The Constitutional framing of this country and the sovereign rights of other countries are more important than petty partisan allegiances or cowardly obedience to President Trump's agenda.
Please show some courage and the support of your constituents by resubmitting the War Powers Resolution, and by additionally launching an enquiry into the illegal actions already taken.

Infinite jest has a lot of really good moments but they are by definition brief and the book is so long they don't feel like they're contributing to a larger whole
Something I like that he does is that he uses obscure words which makes them seem like he's coining words in an odd reversal - howling fantods, eschaton, I had to look these up to see if he made them up and he very much didn't but they're obscure enough it has some of the same effect. Since the main character memorised the dictionary it doesn't feel pretentious to do this either, but the way the character might think. Especially since the voice of the book is like omniscient 3rd person but where that perspective is somehow filtered through or informed by the perspective of some or all of the characters.
